Awake my friends,

A new year is upon us and there are many opportunities to behold.  Opportunities for leadership, training, and fun: these opportunities are forged from the Order! The Order is the essence of cheerful service and unselfish behavior. Through these opportunities we will learn, grow, and appreciate the traditions of the brotherhood together.
We have the obligation to uphold our quality service to our lodge, troops, and district.  As the greatest chapter in the northern hemisphere, it is our responsibility to be the model for all other chapters’ aspirations. Let us show the world that Astatula is the key element of service, cheerfulness and brotherhood in the lodge. Our elements will bond our brotherhood in such a way that every value of scouting will be alive in our actions.
As a chapter we must work toward building participation in both chapter and lodge events.  These events will show the strength of our chapter.  May it be our steadfast purpose that, the ideals of scouting may grow in our hearts and consciences.

Yours in Brotherhood,

Alex Woulas

Dear Brothers,

It is my pleasure to warmly welcome you to the Astatula Chapter 2005! To both old and new members, we are going to have an AWESOME year, filled with fun, fellowship, and food. To those of you new to Astatula, we are a fairly new chapter. We formed after the split in districts, and are now at our third year! We were strong this year with 67 new brothers (welcome to all of you).

The Order of the Arrow is Boy Scouting’s honor camping group, and as you will find out, we know how to have a lot of fun! We have 4 lodge weekends at Camp Lanoche, as well as our own call-out and ordeal here at Camp Oklawaha. Through the year you will get to know all of the officers better, and you will learn about out customs and traditions. There are several ways you can be active as an Order of the Arrow member! If you enjoyed the ceremonies you participated in, you can contact the ceremonies chairman listed on this site. Or if you liked the Indian Regalia, our own Tony Cox is a Native dancing and regalia guru. We have all kinds of things you can do, try everything and see what you like!

Remember, ten months from your Ordeal you are eligible to seal your membership in out Brotherhood. Take the opportunity when it is presented; it is an opportunity you will never forget (just like your Ordeal!). Take the time to talk to ANY officer about what to do here in the O.A., we will be more than happy to help you! Remember, the Order of the Arrow is about service to your unit, always be there for the boys in your troop, set the example! Live the Scout Oath in your daily lives!

Yours in Wimachetndienk,

David Vitt

Tyler Robbins: Chief 2002-2004

My Brothers,

I welcome all of you who have recently been inducted into Tipisa Lodge. The Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s National Honor Society, and so it is quite an honor for your friends and fellow campers in your Troop to elect you. At the Ordeal, you learned that we are all bound by ties of Brotherhood, and having taken the Obligation, let us now strengthen our ties of friendship within Astatula Chapter.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at Lodge weekends at Camp La-No-Che and other Chapter activities. We also have Section Conference coming in April, as well as the National Order of the Arrow Conference at the end of July. Be sure to attend that event, because it’s absolutely amazing!
Our Chapter, Astatula, has a strong and proud history, and we look forward to maintaining that tradition. This won’t be possible without the participation of all our Arrowmen, so be sure to get involved and take advantage of all the Order has to offer! Our meetings are on the first Thursday of every month at Melbourne Church of Christ on Hollywood Avenue. I look forward to seeing you there!

Yours in Brotherhood,
